Kazakh President: Astana Hub and Alem.AI Should Become a Real Innovation Factory

President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev visited the Astana Hub innovation ecosystem and reviewed the concept of the Alem.AI Artificial Intelligence Center, which will be located in the Nur Alem sphere.

The Head of State recalled that he had previously proposed establishing a National Center for Artificial Intelligence in his Address. He suggested expanding this idea by making the Center international, transforming it into a key institution for the development of artificial intelligence in the region.

“The Alem.AI International Center should become the epicenter of the AI movement and a symbol of Kazakhstan’s digital transformation. This platform will unite the brightest minds of our country and attract talent from around the world. Astana Hub and Alem.AI should become a real innovation factory, fostering international partnerships, stimulating scientific research, and developing solutions for all key sectors of the economy, education, and the social sphere,” President Tokayev said.

According to the Minister of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry Zhaslan Madiyev, Tomorrow School and Tumo Education schools will be opened at the Center. It is expected to train more than 1,000 schoolchildren in programming, robotics, and other creative technologies, as well as 1,000 highly qualified specialists annually. The Alem.AI International Center will also serve as a campus for startup acceleration and promote research projects in the field.

The President was briefed on promising domestic startup projects and companies participating in incubation and acceleration programs. These include Cybernet.ai, which specializes in developing and deploying voice robots for customer interaction, and ArlanBiotech, focused on addressing complex issues in immunotherapy and diagnostics. Another promising startup, Higgsfield AI, has developed an advanced system that helps scientists and engineers train the most complex computer models.

The Head of State was also informed about the activities of TikTok and Netracker in Kazakhstan. Thanks to tax incentives, visa support, and other favorable conditions, foreign companies and IT specialists are becoming part of the Astana Hub ecosystem. Currently, negotiations are underway to establish offices for Telegram, TON, Tether, Google, EPAM, and other global IT industry representatives to implement research projects and develop new products.

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev was also presented with domestic innovations in artificial intelligence, including industrial solutions such as digital twins for fields, drone control systems, and robot dogs for production use.

The Head of State shared his vision for the development of artificial intelligence in Kazakhstan, emphasizing the country’s significant potential in the IT sector. He noted that, under his directive, the Government adopted the Concept for the Development of Artificial Intelligence for 2024-2029.
